About FortyTWO

In 2006, we had a crazy idea. We wanted to assemble a group of talented, inspired and motivated individuals who shared a common dream to build unforgettable events… and we made it happen! For more than a decade, we have been proud to help create thousands of events. We promise to keep that momentum going by following one simple truth:

We are the answer to everything?

Maybe you’re organizing a fundraiser to benefit a local non-profit and are in need of accent lighting. Or maybe you’re building an outdoor concert in the heart of your city and need staging. Whatever your needs are, trust the pros.

We’ve been in business for 14 years and our team collectively boasts over 200 years worth of industry-related experience. And while our home address is located in Youngstown, we proudly produce events nationally.

Let’s connect! We believe in your dreams as much as our own.

Meet the team

At FortyTWO, we wholeheartedly believe in giving our all to make event production so much more than a service. We’ve hand-picked a band of movers and shakers who are invested in the work they produce. We take pride in encouraging creativity and outside-the-box thinking; after all, what’s work without a little whimsy? Our goal is to find the everyday joy in projects we take seriously.

Abby VanHorn

Abby’s 9-year background in administration makes her the perfect fit for keeping our office and accounting in check. On her days off, she enjoys listening to live music, thrift shopping, reading, watching her son play sports, and spending time with friends.

Bill Lowery

Bill has been doing touring, FOH and audio engineering for the last 20 years! Now that he’s at FortyTWO, he’s the master of our AV department. Fun fact: Bill owns Animal Dojo Recording Studio in Youngstown and performs in his band, Lake Lake.

Billy Drury

Billy, a Kansas City native, once did lighting for the band Escape the Fate. When he’s not illuminating events with his lighting skills, he’s playing bass and guitar.

Dan Young

Dan’s passion for production started in high school when he participated in the theater program and and studied video production through college. Dan wears many hats at FortyTWO, so on his days off, he enjoys playing bass guitar and collecting records.

Gabi Young

Gabi was born to be an LD and FortyTWO has made her dreams possible. When she’s not creating vivid light designs, she’s daydreaming about Tom Petty and dinosaurs.

Jim Berry

Since then, he’s toured with Disney on Ice and Disney Live, among other shows. Krista Shuff

Krista caught the production bug in 1995 when she worked with her dad and IATSE at Ozzfest in Akron. Fun fact – Krista was just 4 days old when she attended her first concert – The Kinks! Her dad was the stage manager for the Akron Civic Theatre as she hung out backstage!

Brian Lizzie

Mollie Crowe

Mollie started out in the industry when she was 17 and took photos of local bands. While she was studying at Youngstown State University, she was bit by the production bug through her involvement with student organizations. In her spare time, Mollie still photographs concerts as Little Blackbird Photo.

Nelson Reep

Nelson began his career in production at the age of 15 at Packard Music Hall as a stagehand. When he’s not mixing sound, you’ll find him spending time with his daughter Charlotte and making his friends laugh ‘til their sides hurt!

David Terpak

David’s roots are in rock and roll – he’s been part of the industry for 50 years! Because of his background, we’d like to think he’s the “Godfather” of production in Youngstown. When he’s not producing high-quality events, he enjoys collecting vintage cameras and collectibles.

Tony Ferrello

Tony's first professional experience was during his freshman year of college. His very first gig was at a movie theater, where he crossed paths with Specialite, owned by FortyTWO's own David Terpak. From there, David took him under his wing and the rest is history. In his spare time, Tony is learning to become a coder and is a Theatrical Projection Designer.

It takes a whole orchestra to play it.”

Event Production is not to be confused with Event Planning

Event Production includes providing event support – from professional audio and video, to lighting and staging. Everything you see and hear at an event – we can do it because at FortyTWO, we do it all!

DVD Disc:

Our goal is a perfect event so we don’t typically playback DVD’s directly from disc at a live event. They are prone to error and hard to cue up just right! We can convert DVD files to show media, but we need the media in advance.*

Blue Ray:

We will not playback Blue Ray Disc. They are way to slow and have HDCP protection. They are only usable as Home Media.

Digital Media:

We carry decked out Show Control Computers based on Apple MacBook Pro and Apple Mac Pro. With the best software in the Pro AV industry. We can playback most any file that will playback in Apple Quicktime. Best Video Format:

Package: *.MOV
Codec: H.264 Presentations: !

Our systems are loaded with Microsoft PowerPoint and most have Apple Keynote. Please let us know what software you need and we will be ready to go when you walk in the door. Not

Of course! Upon submission of a request for a quote, a member of our Dream Team will contact you to help assess your needs.

Check out the 7 Reasons to Choose the FortyTWO Experience for more information on why FortyTWO is the answer to everything!

It all comes full circle as to why we chose the name FortyTWO – an homage to The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. In the book, the number 42 is believed to be “the answer to life, the universe and everything.” It is our strong belief that we are the answer to everything.
