Hitting it Out of the Park at MLB All-Stars

By Billy Blaze | July 10 2019

This Tuesday, Cleveland welcomed the 90th MLB All Stars game to Progressive Field after a weekend full of festivities. The first All-Star game hosted by Cleveland since 1997, the 2019 game secured the Indians as the team to have hosted All-Stars the most times (6). A variety of baseball-themed events hosted by local Cleveland bars, restaurants, and businesses including the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame were all scheduled over the weekend to excite fans of the sport and offer a warm welcome to residents and visitors. Another highlight of the event-packed weekend included the Play Ball Park All-Star Concert Series which Forty Two was happy to be involved with. The concert series featured national acts Twenty One Pilots (Friday) and The Killers (Saturday) accompanied by opening acts Welshly Arms and White Reaper respectively. With sell-out crowds for both nights, fans of music and baseball were united in Cleveland under the stars. From the words of one of our Lighting Pros, “It’s amazing to see our work serve as such an important piece of this event. Baseball is a sport loved by so many people and to be a part of bringing not only fans of the sport together, but music as well really puts into perspective the importance of what we do at Forty Two Event Production.” Serving as a lighting vendor for the concert series and equipment operator during the daytime programs at the Play Ball Park, our equipment and team of pros expertly provided lighting services that engaged fans and enhanced the All-Star experience. Seeing events such as All-Stars in a “Rustbelt community” like Cleveland, provides a glimpse into what the future of Northeast Ohio could bring to residents of the area. Nationally recognized brands like MLB draw a lot of attention and have the potential to bring much needed business to the surrounding area. Perhaps by Cleveland hosting All-Stars, it shows that Northeast Ohio and the Rustbelt have much to offer.
